Dry needling is an effective method for treating acute and chronic pain. It involves the use of a dry needle inserted into the skin and muscle at locations known as myofascial trigger points. This method of physical therapy is also suitable for injury rehab and injury prevention, and it has very few side effects. We use dry needling when it is deemed by our clinician as appropriate adjunct to our other physical therapy services.

Over time poor postural habits develop with our lifestyles. Daily activities such as sitting at a desk, carrying a small child, or just not generally moving around as much as you once did, create small changes causing the body to start stiffening up. As these small changes accumulate, we can fall into poor postural habits. Just as the body has learned these habits, it can ‘unlearn’ them with some effort and consistency. During your postural evaluation, your Doctor of Physical Therapy will assess your symptoms and determine the areas causing your discomfort, then begin creating a corrective program for you to combat the effects of poor posture.
Physical therapists can help individuals enjoy a healthier lifestyle by proactively identifying risk factors and muscular imbalances that may inhibit physical performance or lead to injury. Comprehensively examining balance, aerobic capacity, functional strength, flexibility and quality of movement, the PT will determine the most efficient way to address any limitations discovered. Enabling you to reach your lifestyle and movement goals.
Kinesio Taping is the use of special type tape to support muscles and joints as they heal. Kinesio Tape is made of breathable material and has the elasticity of human muscle fibers. It’s goal is to help the body’s natural healing process by reducing pain and inflammation, providing neuromuscular feedback, decreasing or limiting unwanted movements and allow the body to heal itself more easily. Kinesio Taping is used in conjunction with manual therapy and other techniques. It can be used on a wide range of patients, from pediatric to geriatric.
