Zach joined Austin PT in the fall of 2021. He has been practicing therapy for 4 years all in an orthopedic setting. Zach completed his undergraduate degree in 2015 from the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh with a Bachelors of Science majoring in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Exercise and Fitness. While at Oshkosh, Zach spent two years playing (practicing) college football. He went on to graduate from Concordia University WI with a clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2018.
Zach grew up in southern Wisconsin and moved to Texas in 2018 to escape the harsh northern winters. When not treating patients, Zach enjoys spending time with his wife and their dog fur baby Asher, and maintaining his yard.
Zach comes from a family of teachers and enjoys making education a large part of his treatment philosophy. He believes that knowing what is going on with one’s health, and how to properly manage it, will enable his patients to make the best medical decisions possible. Zach has been certified in Dry Needling for over three years and uses this technique often to treat many different types of musculoskeletal conditions. He also greatly enjoys the one-on-one interaction and the extended time he gets to spend with his patients. He learns as much from them as they do from him.
Zach has extensive experience in treating a whole host of different conditions ranging from every type of post-surgical, chronic lower back and sacroiliac joint pain, gait and balance disruptions, sports medicine, and osteoarthritis. He employs a combination of targeted exercise instruction, specialized manual therapy techniques like Dry Needling, and patient education to achieve the best outcomes possible. After working with Zach, every patient will have the tools and the know-how to manage their condition and prevent it from coming back.
Sarah joined Austin PT in March 2022. Before becoming a physical therapist, she practiced for 5 years as a Licensed Massage Therapist working with clients to help reduce pain and improve function of the musculoskeletal system. Sarah is an Austin native and graduated from the University of St Augustine in 2021 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
When not working at the clinic, Sarah enjoys exploring the wilderness around Austin in the warm Central Texas weather, practicing and instructing Yoga, and spending time with her family and her 14 year old dog Bea.
Sarah was inspired to become a physical therapist from her time working with special needs children, and observing Physical Therapists participate in equine therapy. There she saw the impact that this profession can have on the lives of patients and was inspired to pursue a clinical doctorate in the field.
Sarah’s broad experience outside physical therapy enables her to bring a unique and global approach to treating her patients at Austin PT. She specializes in musculoskeletal and chronic pain conditions utilizing a mix of targeted movement exercises and specialized manual therapy to promote proper movement and function. She also has experience rehabilitating patients from many different types of surgeries like Total Knee Replacements, Rotator Cuff Repairs, and traumatic fracture fixations.
Erica Flores joined Austin PT as the office manager in December 2021. She has worked in the medical field for over 15 years granting her invaluable experience navigating the health insurance landscape. She manages the daily operations of the office. Erica was born and raised in Austin, Texas. In her free time, she enjoys trying new things with her fiancé, going to Spurs games and spending time with her two dogs, Peanut and Daisy.
